Delhi agricultural land: establish the village’s legal and planning status
Research revision · 20 October 2026. Newly researched replacement text, not a recovered original. Sources and remaining limitations appear below.
New Hobo correction draft — 18 October 2026 UTC. Newly researched replacement content; no parcel cleared.
Delhi Revenue's registration index separately lists urbanised villages, land acquired by DDA and registration legislation. These are distinct checks. A village name appearing in one list does not itself settle ownership, permitted use or the effect of later notifications. Revenue document index
There is also a source-label trap: the index's “DLR Act” link appears under a Land Reforms heading, but the linked PDF is titled Delhi Land Revenue Act, 1954. It concerns revenue administration and records; it should not be cited as the text of the Delhi Land Reforms Act or used to explain section 81 of that different Act. Linked Revenue Act PDF
For a holding offered as a farmhouse, assemble the village's relevant notifications and the parcel's field identifiers before assessing the advertised use. Separate revenue classification, urbanisation, planning permission, acquisition and the seller's title. The word “urbanised” should not be treated as a universal building permission, and a revenue entry does not establish every development entitlement.
Ask for the deed chain, current record, map, possession details and any order or notice affecting the property. Compare the area offered with the documented footprint. If an existing structure is part of the price, obtain its approval history separately from the land record.
This replacement intentionally supplies no district-wide transfer, tax or construction conclusion. It removes the old title-verification assurance and the generic “yes” answer to an NRI question on an agricultural page. Actual buyer status, intended acquisition route, village notifications and property documents are necessary for a specific assessment.
